Inner Harbour's Therapeutic Riding Program provides an opportunity to help extremely troubled and abused youth with emotional and behavioral disorders learn to overcome life's most difficult challenges. The riding program is a powerful tool for developing trust, self confidence, self control and positive relationships with peers and adults. At Inner Harbour the unique bond that develops between a horse and a troubled child is often the motivating force that opens that child up to receive the intensive treatment they need.
The Therapeutic Riding Program, needs your support in order to continue. Both public and private funds for intensive residential psychiatric care are declining and only cover medical treatment and education.
Inner Harbour must generate support for this effective, experiential therapy program, but we need your support so children can continue to experience the reward of healing and have hope for the future.

Wild Horse Annie's dream of protecting America's free horses will soon be destroyed because of an eleventh-hour amendment slipped into the Federal Appropriations bill by Senator Conrad Burns (R ? Montana). Senator Burns added an amendment that removes all protection for wild horses over the age of ten or that failed to be adopted after three attempts. The efforts of Wild Horse Annie led to the passing of The Wild and Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act in 1971 and offered protection against their wholesale slaughter.
Under the amendment offered by Senator Burns, older horses and burros and those deemed unadoptable will be sold at auction without any protection against being sent to slaughter at one of the three foreign owned equine slaughterhouses now operating in the United States. American horsemeat is sold in France, Italy, Belgium and Japan, where it is considered a delicacy.
